Your zodiac sign can represent so many things… Who knew it could even tell people what flower to give you!

As well as certain traits and characters associated with each astrological star sign within the zodiac, did you know that each also has a flower connected to it, representative of the personalities the people born under that star embody?

Depending on where you look, you may see that certain signs have a more than one flower linked to them, while others have only one. In order to not overcomplicate things, we’ll be going through the more commonly associated flowers for each sign!

ARIES (March 21st - April 20th): Honeysuckle

This fire sign’s symbol is The Ram, people born under Aries can be daring, bold and competitive. The first in zodiac, Aries represents fresh starts and new beginnings. A perfect fit for the honeysuckle, which blooms in spring, the season most associated with rebirth!

TAURUS (April 21st - May 21st): Poppy

The Bull and an earth sign, you can rely on a Taurus to be dependable, strong and compassionate like the animal that represents them. Poppy flowers are similarly resilient and able to stand their ground. A red flower is the perfect bloom for the naturally loving Taurus.

GEMINI (May 22nd - June 21st): Lavender

Geminis are charismatic and expressive, an air sign represented by the symbol of The Twins. Lavender is fragrant and eye-catching, and just like the sociable Gemini it is always found in groups.

CANCER (June 22nd - July 22nd): White Rose

Sensitive to others’ emotions, sentimental and caring, Cancers are a water sign represented by The Crab, and well-suited to the white rose, which are pure, elegant, and their beauty is universally adored.

LEO (July 23rd - August 22nd): Sunflower

Any other flower than the sunflower being linked to the Leo just wouldn’t make sense, people of this fire sign exude an outgoing warmth and are fiercely loyal, just like The Lion that represents them. Both Leos and the sunflower radiate happiness to all around them!

VIRGO (August 23rd - September 23rd): Morning Glory

Represented by The Virgin, those born under the earth sign Virgo are well-intentioned, altruistic, and practical. Similarly adaptable, morning glories can set root in poor soil, and require little special care compared to certain other flowers.

LIBRA (September 24th - October 23rd): Rose

Diplomatic and social, Libras are an air sign well-portrayed by The Scales, so it makes sense that they would be associated with such a classic, well-known, and much-beloved flower.

SCORPIO (October 24th - November 22nd): Chrysanthemums

Scorpios are a water sign represented by The Scorpion, and while they can appear stubborn, they are brave and multi-faceted, with many levels and sides to them, like the many layers of petals of the chrysanthemum which they are linked with.

SAGITTARIUS(November 23rd - December 21st): Carnation

The Archer represents Sagittariuses well, as those born under this fire sign are extroverted and determined. They are a good match to the strong and beautiful carnation. A common wedding flower, the carnation is an emblem of the seriousness with which Sagittariuses display their emotions.

CAPRICORN (December 22nd - January 20th): Pansy

An earth sign represented by The Goat, a Capricorn - a sign known for being reliable, tenacious, and independent - fits well with the pansy, a hardy flower able to survive imperfect soil and short periods of freezing and snow.

AQUARIUS (January 21st - February 19th): Orchid

An orchid’s first flowers won’t open until at least 5-7 years after germination, so their beauty requires patience, akin to the esoteric and uncompromising Aquarius (an air sign and The Water Bearer), who may need time to warm to someone, but is imaginative and eccentric once they open up!

PISCES (February 20th - March 20th): Water Lily

Being a water sign and emblematic of The Fish, it should come as no surprise that a Pisces is paired with the water lily. Both the flower and those born under the star sign it is connected with are elegant and romantic
